Kona officers arrested 11 motorists while Puna and South Hilo officers arrested four in motorists in each district. Hamakua officers also arrested one person.
There have been 251 DUI arrests so far this year compared with 207 during the same period last year, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
So far this year, there have been 304 major accidents, down from 316 at this time last year.
To date, there have been four fatal crashes on Hawaii Island public roadways resulting in five fatalities, compared with three fatal crashes resulting in five fatalities during the same period last year.
